Live To Be Remembered

This weekend at South Hills, we shared the story of the Nabua family. Their son, E.J., 14, was hit by a truck and killed. Their story is heart wrenching but hopeful.

The interview was 45 minutes long and I watched it 3 times to story board it for editing. To be honest, I dont know if I could have the compassion and strength of this father and mother. They are really heroes of the faith.

The Amazing Troy

My friend Troy Kennedy, worship pastor at Westside Family Church in Lenexa, KS, is apparently quite the magician. Watch the trick he does with this microphone....

Thanks to Jared Wells (TD @ Westside) for sharing.

SouthHillsTech.com

Today we launch SouthHillsTech.com This site has been a dream of mine since I came to South Hills almost 2 years ago. SouthHillsTech.com is a place for our tech team to come and get information, comment on the experiences they are having, and be updated on schedules etc. It will definatley be evolving as the church grows, campuses expand, and we find out what works. John Edwards, one of our volunteer video switchers, is using his expertise to make the site happen. His talent and creativity has really brought the site to life. Thanks John. Check out the site and tell me what you think.

SCARS

Easter kicked off our new series "Scars". I will let our Communications Director, Jan Lynn explain the concept:

"In our new series, “Scars” which started this weekend, we talked about the scars each one of us carries - both visible and invisible. The message clearly explained the meaning of Jesus’ death and resurrection, and how His scars can heal our deepest wounds, “once and for all.” To create an interactive/participatory moment in the message, we included cut-out hands in everyone’s program. We created a moment where we had everyone write their own personal scar on the paper hand.

Then we had them get up and physically take them (hundreds of people at every service) and pin them on a board at the front of the auditorium. To literally give them to Jesus. It was a powerful moment, and a beautiful start to the series."
